Digital job aid.
The purpose of this project was to create a digital job aid or digital instructional tool that clearly provides information relevant to completing a task. As a high school history teacher I wanted to create a tool that would be useful for my students.
In the historical process historians are always asking the question, "what is history?" Although there are many answers to this question the most widely accepted response is that history is the study of the past or a formal story of events. But, in order to completely understand this story it is crucial to go straight to the source. Primary and secondary source analysis and interpretation is the foundation and framework for the study of the past.
My curriculum is designed to explore history through the study of primary and secondary sources. In order to understand these sources my students must first learn analysis and interpretation skills. My digital job aid focuses on a specific process called the APPARTS method to thoroughly and thoughtfully examine historical sources.
